My Old Friend MRKH
VIDEO DESCRIPTION
“A digital story, exposing the experiences of seven women across the globe as they tell their unique and complex story of the MRKH diagnosis. Mayer–Rokitansky–Küster–Hauser syndrome effects 1 in 5000 females, resulting in the under-development or absence of the reproductive tract. MRKH as we know it is unbiased, uncompromising and complex. MRKH has a global footprint – it spans to corners of the globe that are both accepting and unforgiving. MRKH rattles the societal norms relating to the abrupt interruptions of sexual development and infertility. This short film attempts to debunk the myths, challenge the stigma's and trigger the movement to normalise differences.”
Sisters for Love Passion Project
VIDEO DESCRIPTION
“One month ago, seven women received a letter and in that letter was a request for honesty, provoking their true reactions to some of the most uncomfortable questions to ever cross their letterbox. As some are yet to find us and as some are yet to find their voice- we chose to confront our diagnosis unscripted and unrehearsed. We placed one request- record first, open letter second.
A True Reaction: The Sisters for Love Passion Project murmurs beneath the surface as we discover the truth about what lies beneath the surface and how one diagnosis can change or indeed, make anything happen. A True Reaction: A Sisters for Love Passion Project is lead by the Sisters for Love MRKH Foundation, Australia who will launch this project as an opportunity for any woman to be that little bit closer to their truth.”
